ASUS ROG Marks 20 Years in Bangladesh with New Gaming Laptops and a National Esports Tournament
The Zephyrus Duo, G14, G16 and TUF Gaming 16 were showcased at a Dhaka event, alongside the announcement of the nationwide ROG Showdown.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) used its 20th anniversary to strengthen its presence in Bangladesh, hosting a dedicated event in Dhaka under the theme "Dare to Innovate." The gathering was more than a simple product launch; it reflected the brand's long-term commitment to a market where gaming interest has grown steadily over the past decade. By bringing new hardware and an esports initiative to local players, ROG aimed to show that its anniversary was as much about the community as it was about technology.
Four models took centre stage: the ROG Zephyrus Duo (GX651), Zephyrus G14 (GU405), Zephyrus G16 (GU606), and the ASUS TUF Gaming 16 (FX610). The most distinctive of the group is the Zephyrus Duo. Unlike conventional single-screen laptops, it features two separate 16-inch OLED panels. This dual-display arrangement is intended to let users keep a game running on one screen while simultaneously viewing chat windows, strategy guides, streaming software, or creative applications on the second. For content creators and competitive players who frequently switch between multiple tools, the extra screen space reduces the need for an external monitor and can make on-the-go workflows more practical.
The Zephyrus G14 and G16 take a different approach. Both are positioned as slim and relatively lightweight machines that still deliver performance suitable for modern games and other demanding tasks such as video editing or 3D work. Their design targets users who want a portable device without fully sacrificing power, a combination that has become increasingly important as more people game or create content outside traditional desktop setups. In contrast, the ASUS TUF Gaming 16 emphasises durability and consistent everyday performance. It is aimed at players who prioritise a robust build and reliable operation over ultra-premium materials or dual screens.
Beyond the hardware announcements, ASUS revealed the ROG Showdown, an online esports tournament open to players across Bangladesh. The event carries a total prize pool of Tk 100,000. Full registration details and the match schedule will be released later through ASUS and ROG's official social media channels, giving the brand a direct way to engage local competitors. Such tournaments often help build visibility for new products while giving amateur and semi-professional players a structured opportunity to compete.
Md Al Fuad, Business Development Manager at ASUS, highlighted the company's two-decade history of pushing gaming technology forward and pointed to Bangladesh's passionate and expanding gaming community as a key reason for the launch. He expressed the brand's interest in introducing its latest devices while also creating more chances for local gamers to connect and compete. Live demonstration zones at the Dhaka event allowed attendees to try the new ROG and TUF laptops in person, giving potential buyers a clearer sense of how the dual-screen setup and other features feel in real use.
For a market that has seen rising interest in both competitive gaming and content creation, the combination of new hardware and a national tournament offers a practical way for ROG to mark its milestone while remaining relevant to local users. The dual-screen Zephyrus Duo in particular addresses a common limitation of traditional laptops by giving players and creators more workspace without requiring additional equipment. Whether the new models and the ROG Showdown will translate into stronger long-term engagement will depend on how well the products perform in everyday conditions and how effectively the tournament is organised, but the anniversary event itself signalled a clear intent to stay active in Bangladesh's gaming scene.
