Duronto TV, one of Bangladesh's dedicated children's television channels, will open its 37th season on Sunday, 25 October, introducing a fresh set of animated programmes while retaining its established local and regular shows.

The new season adds two internationally known series in Bengali-dubbed versions and four feature films built around the long-running Strawberry Shortcake character. These sit alongside the channel's continuing original animation and its usual mix of dramas, cartoons and other children's content. The additions are intended to broaden the daily and weekend schedules for viewers of different ages.

One of the new series is Chip and Potato. It centres on a lively five-year-old girl named Chip and her companion Potato, a small mouse that can talk. While the people around Chip treat Potato as an ordinary toy, he quietly helps her solve everyday problems with practical advice. The Bengali voice performances for the series were directed by Mahbub Alam and Indrani Ghatak. From Sunday the show will air on weekdays at 9am, 3pm and 7:30pm.

The second new series is The Snoopy Show. It follows the energetic dog Snoopy, his small bird friend Woodstock, Charlie Brown and the rest of the familiar group of characters. Across the episodes Snoopy steps into different roles, including those of a doctor, a student and a writer, while the stories blend simple humour with the characters' imaginative adventures. Sajjad Ahmed and Sharif Hasan Chowdhury directed the Bengali voice work. The series is scheduled for weekdays at 9:30am, 3:30pm and 8pm.

Four Strawberry Shortcake films will also join the schedule as part of the season launch. They are Strawberry Shortcake's Spring Spectacular, Strawberry Shortcake's Summer Vacation, Strawberry Shortcake and the Beast of Berry Bog, and Strawberry Shortcake's Perfect Holiday. These longer titles give the channel additional options for weekend or special slots and bring a well-recognised character to viewers who may already know the brand from other media.

At the same time, Duronto TV will keep airing its own original animated series Sobar Bondhu Toton. The show follows the daily life of a curious and occasionally mischievous boy named Toton, whose questions and ideas often lead to light comic situations involving his parents, sister, grandparents and school friends. It is the channel's second fully in-house animated production and remains on the weekend timetable at 1pm, 4pm and 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

The rest of the channel's regular programming—its existing dramas, shorter cartoon slots and other children's shows—will continue without interruption. By placing the new imported titles next to ongoing local work, the 37th season keeps a balance between familiar faces and fresh stories across the week.

Children's television in Bangladesh continues to face competition from free digital platforms, YouTube channels and short-form video. In that environment, channels like Duronto TV have tried to maintain relevance by combining ready-made international series with original local animation that can speak more directly to Bangladeshi children. The decision to open the new season with both global characters and the continuing Sobar Bondhu Toton series reflects that approach.

Full weekly schedules, any promotional spots and exact film timings are expected to be confirmed by the channel closer to Sunday's launch. For young viewers and their families, the 37th season offers an expanded set of choices starting this weekend, with the new series and films joining a lineup that already mixes imported and home-grown content.
